This studio is located on Ile Saint-Louis, steps away from the Seine River and next to Ile de la Cité and the Basilica of Notre-Dame. Ile Saint-Louis is an up scale neighbourhood, where you have beautiful shops and services, including bakery, butcher, food stores and restaurants. You can walk through the heart of the city, to all the museums, including Louvre and Centre Pompidou / Beaubourg. Walk on the right bank through the Marais, to place des Vosges, or through the Tuileries, to Place de la Concorde and les Champs Elysées, up to l'Arc de Triomphe. Or stroll on the Left bank through the Latin Quarter, Jardins du Luxembourg, Saint-Germain des Prés, Les Invalides and the Eifel Tower. If you get tired of walking, hop the 'bateau-bus' (boat bus) on the river Seine and return back to the comfort of your studio. The nearest Metro is Pont-Marie, but several other stations are also nearby.
A Wondeful Apartment

We recently spent 5 nights in the studio apartment and we couldn't be happier with our accommodation. We have stayed in Paris several times previously and have paid for cramped rooms with difficult stairs to climb. This apartment was reasonably priced and spacious. Although there is a lift, we only used it to carry our luggage on arrival and departure. The apartment is only on the first floor with easy stair access. When we arrived the apartment was very clean and contained everything that we could want during our stay. The kitchen was fully equipped including a coffee maker, and there were even a number of Paris travel guides on the bookshelf. The shower had very good water pressure and we never ran out of hot water. The bed was comfortable with enough pillows and towels. We had some friends visit for a drink and they were very impressed. They were paying more for a lot less!
We were able to watch the busy parade of activity from the large windows, and yet when we closed them up at night, the apartment was quiet and very secure.
But the standout attribute of this apartment was its location. On Ile-St-Louis it was a convenient and pleasant walk to the Marias as well as many other attractions too numerous to list. There is a nearby bateau-bus stop for exploring Paris along the Seine, as well as a Metro station not too far away (Pont-Marie). However, we ended up walking to most places as the streets of Paris are endlessly interesting. There is both a cremery and bakery opposite and a supermarket underneath. The street has many interesting shops as well as restaurants covering a wide range of tastes and budgets, and there are many more in the surrounding area.
Finally, we received excellent support from Maria and her local agent Carlos. Maria was prompt and efficient in all her dealings with us, and provided lots of useful advice and suggestions.
As this review clearly indicates, we couldn't recommend this apartment more highly. It provided a perfect Paris base for our holiday. We will never stay anywhere else in future, many thanks Maria!
The two apartments are next door to each other. We stayed in each for part of our month and recommend both. The location is fabulous and feels very safe. The grocery downstairs is a real bonus. Both Maria (who arranges things from her office in Canada) and Carlos (who met us to let us in and answered questions) were very helpful and flexible. You go up 1 floor on an easy, clean stairway -- you can also take the elevator but we didn't bother except when dealing with the luggage.
The studio has windows opening onto the street bringing in the flavor of the neighborhood when open. When the windows are closed they shut out the street noise very well. You can still hear the grocery downstairs roll up their door around 8am and close it around 10pm, but it wasn't loud enough to wake us up. The other noise is the occasional unobtrusive low rumble of the elevator. The windows face north so the room stays relatively cool during the day, especially if you close the heavy curtains before you leave (we saw a fan but no air conditioner). It is more eclectic in decor and smaller than the 1-bedroom but still very functional. The studio includes a tub with shower attachment, an odd but functional spray-containing shower screen and a bidet. Note that at this point there is no safety grab bar in the tub area so you need to be very careful when you take a shower. The kitchen is well-equipped and fully functional but we just microwaved things and didn't bother to really cook because there were so many good places to eat. Staying here made for a wonderful month in Paris.
I had rented Maria's one bedroom in the same building last year. This year I rented the Studio and I must say that this one was even better! A nice street view from two very large windows, very efficient kitchen, comfortable beds and of course, the perfect location on the Ile St. louis. A great Easter week get-away with fabulous weather too. Thank you, maria and Carlos!
Our family stayed in this great studio apartment for 6 nights. We really enjoyed our stay and were very happy with our choice of accommodations. We loved the huge windows overlooking the street below and the high beamed ceiling. The windows are brand new and we could hardly hear the street noise below. The location is fantastic - a short walk to metro and RER stations, restaurants, and Notre Dame. We especially loved having a grocery store right below us (which we never heard noise from), and a bakery right across the street, where we'd get our morning coffee and pastry every day. It was also nice that we only had to carry our luggage one floor up, We'd definitely stay here again.
